College & Career Programs
The Hernando County School District prepares students to be workforce ready, postsecondary education prepared and civic life responsible upon graduation through
Career Technical Education programs based on labor market demands.
The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs section provides information on educational programs that prepare students for occupations important to Florida’s economic development. Admission is open to all students and placement is based on a student's selection of one of the 24 different programs of study. To eliminate barriers to student success, the school-based team assesses the need for support and develops a support (IEP, ELL) plan.
All CTE programs and courses are organized by career clusters, which are delineated by the U.S. Department of Education. With the help of partners in education, business and industry, and trade associations, each program includes the academic and technical skills required to be successful in today’s economy.
